Raw water pump pulley 2002 Ski Nautique 196 with GT-40

My raw water pump pulley does not line up with the main drive pulley. Because of this, I wear out a lot of raw water pump drive belts. The pump's mount bracket is bolted to a flat area on the engine. It seems like a very thin shim/wedge between the engine block and the mount bracket would work to line up the pulley. Has anyone with a 2002 Ski Nautique 196 with a GT-40 engine experienced this problem? If so, how did you remedy the situation?

My 2000 is in alignment. I would shim it You might also check that the pulley is on the pump shaft correctly. It may move easily and be able to be brought into alignment
