    Perfect Pass Malfunction

This is a follow-up to my post last year. The post was: "I have Perfect Pass Pro on a SAN 2000. Lately it malfunctions during wakeboarding in that the speedo part of it suddenly drops to zero. This freaks out the system and I have to turn it off. Usually the speedo starts to re-register on its own again and goes up from zero to actual speed again. I wonder if this means a bad lead or possibly a paddle wheel that's starting to jam. Any thoughts. Jeff" You folks suggested checking the Paddle Wheel while the boat was out of the water - I did; it spins freely. What else can cause this? It's at a local marina now, is there something I should ask them to check?
