choosing and installing the best depth finder

I just bought a 1989 2001. What is the best depth finder for this boat? Are depth finders easy to install?
    Thanks

hardest part about mounting is finding somewhere to mount the gauge. Overall it's pretty easy.

        JIT,
are you sure about that?? Don't you have Faria and Humminbird reversed? My Humminbird unit quit after 3 months, do a search here and I think you'll find others with the same problem.
I installed a Faria, and it seems to work much better.
Someone did tell me that Humminbird improved their gauge, and that this problem was resolved with the newest models.

I agree with Miljack, My h-bird is no good and I've read many posts of the faria working better.
