Transmisson fluid leak - Excaliber 330 engine

    2003, 206 w/330 Excaliber, 308 hours:

I'm finding a small pool of transmission fluid under the front of the engine (under the belts) Obviously fluid is traveling due to position that boat is stored in. Where do I start, are there any common issues with oil coolers & lines - do the transmission have one??)

Transmission fluid changed every 100 hours or at begining of season

    Any advice would be appreciated!

    thanks! :?:

No common issues that I'm aware of. Try toweling off the underside of the trans and putting a few paper towels underneath. Then look for trans fluid drops a few days later. I had a leak in the front seal of my trans. Wasn't too bad of a job to replace.

Thank, I'll try to figure out where oil is coming from, what causes a seal to fail?

High water left in the bilge can cause corrosion and pitting around where the seal rides on the input shaft which can mar the seal. Have you ever had standing water in the bilge for any length of time?

make sure the connections from the gear to the cooler are tight. then, try the towel under the gear trick as mentioned earlier.
