port & sb ballasts filling up by themselves?

My ballasts are filling themselves up w/o me pushing the button. How do I fix this? It hasn't been to much of a problem since we fill the sacks up when we board but it's kind of a pain when were just driving around or I forget to drain them when we pull the boat out.

RE: port & sb ballasts filling up by themselves?

what year is your boat? there was basically a recall on the 03-5 ballast valves. they have a 100% solution that is very easily fixed and they pay for it if you do it at the dealer. takes about an hour maybe two. and are you closing your valves after you fill?

I have the same problem on my 06 211 (no valves). The CC tech at this years boat show told me it's a ballast impeller issue. CC has a fix with new impellers that will not allow this to happen along with a small deflector for the bellt ballast pickup that keeps any water from being forced into the pump. I have the filling problem plus an emptying one. My additional bags are above the water line and force water back to the pump. The soft rubber impellers are letting water weep out. Hopefully I'll have the new impellers this week. BTW-the old black ones worked great but you'll have a problem with them sticking/binding, which keeps the pump from working.

ya just all any correct craft dealer, tell them they are filling, and they should send you new valves or ask you to bring it in again, it will cost you 0
