I have an 06 SAN 210 TE. I have had some black sut coming from where the tower seperates to be folded. What is it & is there anything I can do to eliminate this or does it disipate on its own?

RE: Black Sut coming from Tower
I believe it is some sort of anti-seize/lube compound that leaks out when moisture enters the joint on the tower - I have the same black stuff on my 06 on occasion as well - separate the tower and wipe clean the area and bolt threads - eventually it will go away - because of the stainless bolt and aluminum tower I give the bolts a turn in and out every time out to keep them free moving2006 SANTE 210 (Pending Sale)

RE: Black Sut coming from Tower
DO NOT WIPE OFF THE THREADS! It is an anti-sieze compound that is supposed to be on there. If you dont, the different materials (steel bolt/Aluminum tower threads) can gavanize and eat eachother or lock up.
The black stuff is the part where the 2 aluminum tower surfaces are touching and slightly rubbing. It will happen and also happen when you use an aluminum polish on a wheel or exhaust tip. It is normal, you can wipe that off but not the threads of the tower bolts.
