    Starting motor

I have an 2006 226 air I was wondering where you insert the hose into the closed cooling system to start it up without the boat being in the water. I was thinking about just sticking it in the water filter in the engine compartment. My father wants to start it up to get rid of a squeaking noise in the belt. Thanks

    RE: Starting motor

The closed cooling uses the lake water for cooling just like a open system except the lake water never makes it all the way through to the engine. The hook up is the same on both. The garden hose goes to a Fake-a-lake, The strainer, directly to the RWP suction hose or a Flush Pro. The flush pro is great if you have the closed cooling because you run in salt or brackish water. At the end of the day it gets connected to the garden hose to flush out the "bad" water. It can even be installed with a through hull garden hose fitting on the transom of the boat. Don't even need to lift the dog house , crawl under the boat or goof with tools.
