    Strainer

Is there a trick to get the strainer to unscrew and clean out the debris?

Just unscrew the transparant part. They can be pretty tight, but with both hands it should be possible.
Watch out when cleaning the strainer that you don't lose the black O-ring!

You can also try a strap wrench. Costs a couple of dollars at any hardware store or Sears.

if it's that tight, call skidim and get a new one. never store with antifreeze in the strainer as well. always disconnect, rinse and replace after winterizing, strainer will last much longer. antifreeze kills those things. had to replace mine this year for that very reason.
