I backed my 2003 super air nautique in the water and idled to my docked. Waiting approximately three minutes for friends to board. My temp gauge started rising. First 175 then 200. I idled out about two minutes more and it rose to 225. I shut off the engine and checked the risers. They were only warm. The water strainer had water in it with a few patricles of grass. I emptied this and replaced it. I started the engine and the gauge immediately was reading normal(165). We wake surfed for a couple of hours and the gauge was always below 175. Any ideas as to what happened.
