Teleflex Tach rudder mode 2001 PAN

On my 2001 PAN, the tach has a mode called Rudder (L_____"_____R),
but when you turn the wheel nothing happens....
is it broke... or not installed by CC...
The wife would like it when loading on trailer in swift river currents...

It was put in there for a feature that CC was going to incorporate in future models. This was done away with when they switched guage manufacturers.
