    ZR6 Trouble

Hi guys hope you dont mind me crashing your forum, but I have a PCM ZR6 problem.
First time out this year I lost the CK sensor I replaced it and had the DTC's cleared. Ever since then my motor has not ran right. at an idle it seems to be a little rough and under load it will not go past about 2k rpm. I can smell gas and it seems to be loading up.

When I took it to my dealer they said I had 2 bad injectors after a power balance test. Well I replaced the injectors and that did not cure the problem. At one point the told me my TP sensor was bad but testing it using DVM there was no problem with it but Diacom software could not see it. I was wondering if my ECM could have shorted when my CK sensor went bad and now I am running on defaults?

    Any thoughts

if I knew what a CK, DTC, TP, DEA, FBI was I could prob fix it for you. JK NO clue.

Why dont you let the dealer sort it out?

What year is your boat? Could be a warranty issue. What is your CK sensor, I've never heard of such a thing but I also don't do much with Chebbys. Do you mean your knock sensor? I find it hard to believe you would have bad injectors on such a new engine and I hope they didn't charge you for two new ones! They can be cleaned easily so no sense in replacing unless they are really FUBAR. Did you pull any codes recently from the ECM after all of this?
How 'bout a little reverse action...

        CK is crank sensor
        DTC is trouble codes
        TP throttle position
dealer shop time is $115 an hr and they have already wasted $200 of my money on bad diagnosis

I cannot imagine the crank sensor would shorten out your ECM. Have you done the injector tests on the Diacom software?

find a new shop instead of a part changer shop

never trust the computor or the gauges

got a readout of the diacom?

What model year is your boat? If it is an '05 or older, it is very possible the oil pressure switch has failed. It will not set any codes, just runs terrible. Remove green wire from oil pressure switch, tie it up out of the way and go run the boat.

KONA you need to post up here what the fix was. I will post it for you. Guys I was helping him via phone on this. We talked for hours about it. It finally clicked after he also replaced two injectors. It was bad fuel. The first trip to the lake for the year was great. However he spilt a little coolant down into the Crank Sensor when winterizing the boat. That was the death of the sensor.

After his first trip to the lake he stopped and filled up his tank with premium gas. On his second trip to the lake the sensor let go and he ran the boat just long enough to get the bad gas he purchased through the system. So when he went to the lake after replacing the sensor and getting the fail code cleared to get it out of limp mode the boat still would not get out of its own way. It was popping and back firing. Upon another scan of the system no fail codes were found so he did a power balance test Cyl 3 and 5 were weak. The dealer said it needed new injectors. So Kona replaced the injectors. Problem was still there. I told him to check his gas. So he drained the gas completely from the boat bought new gas not High grade but mid grade. The boat was a dog for 10-15 minutes on the lake then all of a sudden it stood up and took off. The boat runs like it is supposed to now. He purchased bad gas on his first fill up for the season. . Problem is fixed I am certain he appreciates all the help. And speaking for him and I we hope you don't mind us being on your boards and forums their is a great wealth of knowledge here.

Ok Thought I had the problemed fixed. It is better but I still am lacking a lot of power on take off. Sounds and smells like the motor is loading up and takes a while to clear. When it finally clears I can get full throttle but it starts all over again when I shut it down. This is a 2004 Tige  with a PCM ZR6

used an injectorcleaning tool ( canister) that I got from spbfan, blew out the injectors and changed plugs again. # number 6 looked a little suspect did a compression test to check all cyl's and everythiing was good 140 to 150 psi. This morning on the lake was great. She was running like brand new thanks for the help all, and thanks for letting me on your forum.
