can BAD GAS (no water) cause the engine to stall ?

I checked the FCC , no water in gas. the gas looks like urine.
the boat has issues when I try to rip it and from time to time it just stalls or comes very close to stalling.

fuel pump? I can hear the pump running when I press start. the boat will start everytime.it will run on idle for 4-5mins (haven't tried for a longer period of time)
I thought the battery was causing the trouble, battery is fine and it's charging allright (13-16) on gauge. connections were very clean and tight.

the problem seem to occur when I hit a wave or something..the engine will start ''knocking'' and backfiring.


I don't feel like taking the stupid boat to the dealer wich is 100miles from my place..can anyone help me?

How do you introduce the Sea Foam into the system? Not through the gas tank, right? I have a 1996 GT-40. Where would you inject it into the system? Is it really all that its cracked up to be?

I have poured Sea Foam straight into the gas tank (per the guys at CarQuest). I usually add some sort of fuel cleaner each year. Sea Foam works good and is fairly priced, I tried Star Tron's Enzyme Gas addetive this year based on all the good reviews at various boating sites. Don't know if it is better than any of the others but you can pick it up at West Marine.
