    Teleflex vs Faria replacement guages

For those of you that think the faria replacements offered for the bad teleflex digital guages LOOK LIKE CRAP, Check these out. These are teleflex guages including tach WITH HOURMETER. They look much better (with my boat anyway) than the faria's. The best part is they work with the existing pitot tube and and the tach was a breeze to hook up. The only thing I had to run was new speedo tubing from the dash to the stern.

Why are your RPM's at 2800 when your boat is on the trailer?

Those look great! For some reason, most posts I've seen show people using the "Coral" style, which I personally don't care for. (http://faria-instruments.com/marine.php)

What do you mean about the connections? Was it mostly plug-n-play?

The rpm's read 2800 because as we pull it out of the water, we throttle to get out any remaining water. If I hit start again it goes to zero. It was 'plug and play, because I did not have to do any rewiring, just cut the connectors and install ring terminals.

Where did you get them and how much did they cost?

the best thing to do is get on to teleflex website and search for the dealer closest to you. They have 'locate dealer' section. You wont' find these part numbers online. You will have to call a dealer and get the pricing. They are special order. check the links below

              Python,

I would be extremely grateful for any part numbers on those gauges you replaced. I took a long look at the Teleflex PDF you posted and can verify the speedo to use but am a bit clueless on the others. Right now, I have a working Volt and Temp gauge only. My Oil Pressure gauge has a loose wire that I can verify from tweaking it around. The gas gauge stopped working, could be the float though too, might have to check that out.

This is what i have so far for the post types, the plugs are crap anyway so I will clip em and bind em with solder too, do it right.

Speedo: 84510 (Someone else posted on this and verified the number, I will need to run tube from the back unit from the digi faria setup)

Tach: 84310?? or the one with mag pickup (84333)??

              Fuel Level: 84150??

              Oil Pressure: 84180??

              Voltmeter: 84134??

              Water Temp: 84590??

Any help on any of these is greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone knows the fuel level sending unit that I might need I would be grateful for any advice on swapping it. Opening that up makes me a bit nervous. As you can see, I am running blind and our PP face down button stopped working too. AWESOME!!

The tach/hour meter I used was the 84310F. I guess the 'F' was Fog-Free. I have a GM 502 engine so I'm not sure if you need the mag p/u or not. I would think the other gages in the series should match. I only replaced my speedo and tach. I had the original teleflex guages so I didn't need to run a new speedo line, but I can only used 1 of the pitots.

Thanks much Python. I am sure I could find out fairly quickly on the mag pickup thing, I kind of doubt it has it but you never know.

I am pretty sure all my gauges are the Teleflex for everything else and they have a silver bezel. Only two work so for a couple bucks more I will have a matching set.

                  Thanks again.
