Just spent the first full week out on the water with our new 2007 216. It was awesome....we are very happy. But, we did learn a couple things that we are going to need to tweak.
One thing is the location of the spinner racks. They are mounted very low for our needs. When working with folks learning on the boom (starboard side), we kept banging into the rack our heads or backs. And when pulling up to a houseboat (port side) the rack and the boards were in the way, so we had to spin them around....and then they were in the way of trying to get from the bow to the back of the boat for exit. Basically, we stopped putting any boards in them and left them loose so we could spin them wherever we needed them quickly.
So my thought is to try and move the racks up as high as we possibly can. See the picture below. Does anyone mount their racks that high? Any thoughts or concerns?
If we can't get them moved so that they are out of the way, then I guess our other option would be to go back to the old style flight clips.....would rather not do that if possible.
Thanks in advance for you input....
