    1996 Super Sport Nautique - V_Drive Questions

I have never changed the oil in my V-drive. I just checked and noticed that I have a transmission and a gearbox. Two different systems. One appears to have ATF in it and the other looks to have some type of gear oil in it. The transmission fluid smells burnt, but is full. The gear oil is incredibly low, to the point that it not registering.

How do I replace the transmission fluid and what type of fluid to run?

Should I just fill the gearbox or do I need to drain and replace?

Are there any filters in either one? If so, where can I get them and how to replace?

The boat runs like a top and has never had any issues. Transmission does not hesitate at all and works in both drive and reverse without any hesitation. I just don't want to experience a nightmare due to my negligence.

Tranny gets dexron ATF and the v-drive gets straight 30W motor oil. You need a pump to get them out. Hand pumps work but are slow. Drill pumps work better. I change mine once a season.
