    Starting problem with GT-40

Lately my boat ('95 SN w/GT-40) hasn't been starting well after the engine is warmed up. When cold it starts right up like it always has. After taking a set and letting the boat sit for 10 minutes or so it doesn't like to start. The engine cranks over fine, but just doesn't fire. Usually I crank it for 5 or 10 seconds, turn the ignition off, then crank again and it finally starts. It then runs a little rough for a few seconds. Yesterday it took 10 minutes to start it. When it does finally start it runs fine. Any ideas? I know this engine had a vapor lock issue, but I've experienced that before and this isn't it, or doesn't seem like it.
    Thanks

GT-40 engines typically do not vapor lock. Both fuel pumps supply much more fuel than is needed, and any vapor is rapidly bled back to the fuel tank.
My GT-40 engine did not vapor lock at Lake Shasta during 115 degree heat, working 4 or 5 hours a day at a Summer camp.
You need to download the GT-40 service manual:
