    2001 ProAir GT40 Wont Start

I have a 2001 Proair GT40 When its cold it starts just fine, if you run it for any period of time, and turn it off and try and restart it, it wont even turn over. I have checked the battery and it has 12.8 volts. When its hot and you push the start button, all of the power blips out, and you have to re-enter the code to get power back, if you hit start it does the same thing. If you let it cool for 5-10 min, it will start right back up again. My original thought was the starter, but Im not even getting a clicking sound from it. The power just goes completely dead. Any ideas? I called the Natique shop that typically repairs it and he said probably a fuel problem (BONE HEAD) i tried to explain to him that the boat doesnt even turn over. HELP the 4th is right around the corner and I need it to run correctly.

Check the usual: kill switch, starter relay, main in-line fuse holder on positive lead coming off the battery, good ground. Sounds like the starter relay with the exception the whole dash dies, which leads me to think about the in-line fuse holder being corroded.

Okay where is the in-line fuse holder located? Ill check it now. Anyother ideas would be greatly appreciated. Could it be a relay or the solinod?

I'm not familiar with the 2001 Proair, but follow the positive lead from the battery until you find the fuse holder. It may be bundled in the covering. Mine went bad (2000 196), and I replaced it with parts from an auto store. It could be a relay - the starter relay. Mine went bad, and it would always start cold, but it would barely click one time - if that - after it was warm. Battery checked ok, and then I read on this board about the starter relays and I had the exact symptoms. Part is $23 and about a 40 minute job. Take pictures of how/where the wires are attached to get them put back correctly.

The dash blipping out is a sign of low voltage. I'd say, what everyone else said and check your battery connections and cables at both ends.

Okay, so it actually turns out to be the Battery, I had it tested 3 times and each time it tested okay, I finally got frustrated with the boat and took it to the shop, they tested the battery 4 times and 3 of the 4 times it showed up having a short! Got a new battery and things are good now! Thanks for your help.
