She wont start ~ Help

So here is how the story goes.......Heavy rains the over the past 2 weeks with the plug in the boat sitting on the trailer. Water was just over the floor boards. Drained the water and hit the lake. Boat started hard on the trailer, pushed off the trailer at the launch and would not start. Tried the boat 30 minutes later and all appeared fine. Re-launched got everything up to temp went about 1/4 mile at 30 mph and the boat died. Towed back in, (first time ever!) have the boat sitting in the driveway in the sun with a fan blowing on the engine.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. Oh yes, '96 Sport with GT 40.

With that much water in it, that was a pretty ballsy move to just drop it back in and go. Check all your fluids first to see if there are any signs of water- it sounds like something got wet that shouldnt have.

No water was in the baot when launched.........Fluids are fine.....

What i think he means is there may have been water in fluids or other important places when you started the engine.

make sure you remove the cap and dry it out - sometimes as steam comes off the engine it will get into the cap, condense and kill your spark.

Water could have compromised the low pressure fuel pump, battery cable connections, and keep-alive fuse at the battery. All are below the floorboard level. A new starter is probably in your future as well.

I have checked the fuses at the battery and all is fine. Certainly the inexpensie items will check out ok.
I will check under the cap later this week.

Under the cap is dry. Off to the shop today with our fingers crossed.

Received a call back from the Mechanic. Boat is ready to go. Seems as though there was a wire which feeds the electronic fuel pump (whcih was not bundled within the main wiriing harness that for some unknown reason was spliced with a push type splice connector. The connector failed due to corrosion, was removed, wire re-routed, tested and all appears to be AOK. Water test for later this afternoon.
