    What is this pole for?

When I bought my 06 206, there were two aluminum poles in the boat. One was obviously the cover prop up pole to poke through the grommet in the cover to keep rain water from pooling.

The other pole is not so obvious to me. See pictures below. Note one end is missing the rubber plug.

    What is it?

RE: What is this pole for?

I mentioned already I have the tent pole with the rubber prong do-dad on it. Are there usually two (different) tent poles? Where does the second go?

Ah, the age old question...where can I put my pole without a rubber on it.

I have never owned a 206, but I would think it would have 3 poles for the cover. One behind the motor, one near the pylon and one in the bow.

Does it fit over the pylon? If it does, cover the top with half a tennis ball and slip it over the pylon to prop the cover up in the front. Just a guess.

I don't think a pole is needed at the pylon....in the bow might be the case. See picture below. But there is no hole to poke it through as near the stern. (no giggles, please) Does the bow pole usually look like the stern pole?

PS - This post is starting to deteriorate.

When I had an open bow, I always put one by the pylon as well as in the front and back.

Does the bow have snaps around it like there was a factory bow cover. My old 210 had a small pole that had a rubber foot on one end and a snap on tje top to snap it in for a tent pole on that factory it was so short it went on top of the bow filler cushion. Yours looks longer than mine or like it may be two pieces to be used with or without the filler cushion. It may be possible that your boat had that small cover and it was not given to you at purchase

Update - I was on the cover mfg's site the other day and noticed the 206 cover comes with two poles.

                              Mystery solved.
