    Thermostat

I've got a perfectly good 160 degree marine thermostat. I ordered it from Skidim last year, and didn't realize it was the wrong one until after I had installed it. So, it has about 15 minutes of driveway/garden hose time on it.

Hate to throw away a perfectly good item. Anybody want it?

    What engine is it for?

I might take it for my Excalibur 330. I just put a heater in, and need to upgrade to the 160 degree from the 140. I also would like my engine to run a little warmer, as I had the oil analised, and I don't think my rings have fully seated yet, mostly due to lower engine temps.

BTW, I am in Houston too.

Why do you say it is the wrong one? My '93 had a 142 and I switched to a 160 for quicker warm-ups. I don't have a heater, so that was not a consideration.

ag4ever, it's yours. PM me your mailing address and I'll send it to you.

thevogt, my boat runs warm so the 143 works better.

the excaqliber engine comes standard with the 160 degree thermostat if your engine is not coming up to temperature then check to see if there is debris in the thermostat holding the valve open slighly.

That is consistent with the info I have seen elsewhere on this site. I have seen that if you have a heater factory installed, then you get the 160, otherwise you get a 140.
