    Electrical System Question

Thanks in advance for your input....

Situation: I have a 2006 220TE. I was using the 12V outlet towards the rear of the boat to run a portable ballast pump. After I finished filling my ballast, I removed the plug and the guts of the plug came apart in the outlet. Apparently, this caused a short or something in the system. This little or not so little issue shut down my stereo, shut down all 12V outlets, and the internal ballast empty does not function (ballast fill works fine). I was a little worried that if I attempted to trouble shoot while on the water, the issue could become worse and cause other electrical failures. So, I siphoned the ballast from the bag that I filled with the portable pump and trailered my boat with the belly and port tanks still full since the ballast empty function would not work.

Question: What do you think the probable failure in the system is? Breakers seem to be fine. Is there a fuse that needs to be replaced? What should I be looking for in terms of issues?

    RE: Electrical System Question

Hi -- had exactly the same thing happen last week with our 2001 Sport Nautique -- my son and friends were dead in the water, 'tho, with nothing working. . .found that there is a fuse to the right of the master electrical cut off switch under the steering wheel (just to the right of the breaker panel)...don't know about yours, but check it out. We weren't sure why there wasn't a breaker for this like everything else, but there was a spade fuse, ATC 20 amp. Check it out. Hope this is it! We bought a few and have them in our glove box now!
