What if your front tracking fin was bent over at about a 90 degree angle? How would this effect your ride?
Could it make the boat shake or would it just make the boat pull hard one direction?

I already did, but I'm doing a few other things to the boat while I have it out of the slip. I'm just wondering how hard I need to keep looking for the shake after finding the fin bent over.

Just out of curiousity, how did that happen? Also, have you closely looked at you prop to make sure it doesn't have any dings in it?

If you can describe the situations when the boat shakes we might be able to give you some things to check, don't forget to include what year and model nautique you have..

You could also have a problem with a worn bushing if you are experiencing a vibration -

Thanks for the replies.
I was on the way back to the dock when the boat started shaking, similar to if a car had a dinged drive shaft or tires out of balance..that type of shake. It did it at fast and slow speeds the rest of the way back, about a half mile.
I did not hit anything in the lake and the boat ran fine for the first 2 hours of so.
I put it on the trailer and brought it home to check it out. The bent fin was the most noticable problem.
The driveshaft feels tight and the prop is tight and looks fine, no dings that I can see.
I guess it could be an engine misfire, but plugs, wires, cap and rotor are all in good shape and replaced last year. Plus the engine light did not come on.
I might have hit something in the road on the way home, but thats what Im trying to figure out.
Ill put it back in the water and see how it does this weekend.. I guess.

Does it vibrate without boat movement? Put it in neutral and turn it on, and if necessary rev it up a little using the disconnect button on the throttle. That should tell you whether it's the engine or the shaft/prop/tracking fins.

shaft/engine alignment will be something to check as well.....
