Port ballast only fills when moving...

Is it normal for the port ballast to only fill when moving? The belly and starboard ballast will fill when sitting still, but the port ballast only seems to fill when the boat is moving forward.

Mine has done the same thing on a 03 210. The dealer thought they fixed it, but it started happening again this year. Not as often though. And of course, when you take it to the dealer to get checked out, it will not duplicate the issue. "[i]Seems to be working fine for us."

I had the exact same issue with my port ballast. It would empty just fine, but wouldn’t fill unless I was underway. My dealer sent me a new pump. Took me about 45 minutes to install and the issue was resolved.

You can open up the pump and see if there is debris inside of it at all.
