I'm a new owner of an '04 SANTE and this is my first boat. I want to change the oil in it but I can't find anywhere what weight oil is recommended. I would appreciate any advice anyone has.
What filter do you use........I have a Pennzoil PZ-1 on it now and I'm having a hard time finding that filter without ordering it online. Would like to do it tomorrow so I'm tyring to avoind having to order the filter.
I use Mobil Delvac dinosaur oil. Label says for diesel as most 15w40 oils do but have the appropriate or better API S"x" rating. The others are good too: Chevron Delo, Shell Rotella, Ford (not synthetic), yadda yadda. Do not use Mobil 1 or other synthetic oils.
Based on your Pennzoil number, you must have a remote filter.... and it is the "legacy" Ford filter...meaning the filter that fit almost every ford ever made prior to the modern engines that now get a special/unique filter. Here is a list by mfg for remote mount filter:
FRAM Part # PH8A
ACDELCO Part # PF2
WIX Part # 51515
Motorcraft Part # FL1A
If your brand is not there, look up a filter for a 1990 Ford F-150 with a 302 V8.
