How do you reset the "Check Engine" Light?

Last weekend, my digital "Low Oil" warning on the tach gauge came on, and the check engine light came on. I put more oil in it, but the check engine light will not turn off. I turned the battery switch to off for about 30 minutes, but that did not clear the light. Any idea how to clear the check engine light? The boat never went into limp mode and continues to run fine, and all the other gauages/readings seem normal.

A scan tool should be able to reset it; you can rent them from some auto parts stores.
