Thanks, pretty simple replacement. Your right, only a couple drops of gas dripped out. Ran in the driveway with the hose, started right up. Off to the lake now for a real test!

Thank you Gentlemen! Problem seems to be solved. 4 Days of running hard at the lake and she hasn't skipped a beat!

I have a 2000 Sport Nautique that just started to cut out at high RPMs this weekend. Other than at high RPMs, it runs fine and starts fine. Is this similar to what others noticed before thier LP fuel pumps had to be replaced?

Also, the check engine light has been coming on. Will a problem with the LP fuel pump cause the check engine light to come on?

Ours would just die. sometimes when pulling a skier out of the water, or starting it up after picking up a skier. Never really noticed a problem at high RPM's. Although we really never run it wide open all the time. The check engine light did not come on.

I too had a low pressure pump run but fail. Very small screen in it that gets clogged. I also had this type of problem with the relays.

Does using any type of fuel injector cleaner or other fuel additive keep the screen from getting clogged. Is there any type of preventative maintenance for the high and low pressure pumps?
Are using any fuel additives helpful for maintaining a GT-40 fuel injected engine when 10% ethanol gas is used with an 89 octane?

I had a low pressure pump go bad, the first time out one year I did not use Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer over the winter. I do not have any way to prove that not adding stabilizer caused the pump to go bad, but I have used stabilizer every year since, and no problems. The pump went bad around 920 hours, and my boat now has 2222.9 hours on it without problems.

Thanks for the heads up. Might keep that screen from getting clogged up. And thanks for all your other helpful posts. Seems I learn something every time you post.
