adding perfect pass to 2005 Sport Nautique 216

I am strongly consider purchasing a 2005 216 that does not have perfect pass. There is just a filler plate over the location where the perfect pass gauge would go.

How difficult and expensive is it to add Perfect Pass to this point?

    Thanks!

Not hard at all. The new GPS ones are easy. Also the directions are great and PP is awsome about answering question if you have any.

Is 2005 drive by wire? If so, no servos to install...right? Just plug into ECM?

Hlymons - I assume that the GPS ones don't require the transducer to be put through the hull?

AirTool - I am not aware if the 2005's are drive by wire or not. It has the PCM 330 (Excalibur) engine.

If you are even the least bit mechanically iclined, you'll have no probs. If your not, then you prolly have a friend who is. They send quite an extensive instruction booklet.

Searching for info on switches and timers....another site reports TBW / DBW started in 2005.

How does one tell? ...moving throttle lever with engine off doesn't move plate on the throttle body?

I have found some web sites that say MC switched to TBW/DBW in 2005 but Correct Craft switched in 2006. I assume that means I need a servo motor to manage the throttle.

I believe 05' is standard cable drive, and you would need the servo and pp module. You should already have the padle wheel, and that will lesson the anxiety of drilling the hole in the bottom of the boat. All of my PP install experience has been on older pre 02 boats.

Installing PP is pretty easy, just take your time and follow the directions. Sometimes you can use the throttle cable after it is disconected to "fish" the wires from the dash to the engine compartment. Its a good trick that has worked for me on two CC's.

Yes, 2005 is definitely mechanical and will require a servo. The throttle cable trick is your best bet unless somebody zip tied everything together below the deck so that the throttle cable doesn't move. :x

                  Good luck!
