Buttons on keyless switch panel lock up?

I've had a couple of experiences with my '08 211TE with everything on the keyless ignition panel locking up. This afternoon we were idling and I pressed the button to empty the belly, all was well, but when I pressed the button to empty port nothing. None of the other buttons on the panel would work either including the stop engine button. Had to turn off main power from the battery switch (on/off/bilge switch doesn't work either, waiting on a new one from CC). Once re-powered everything seemed to work fine.

    Anyone else seen this?

Although not common, those keypads do go bad sometimes. With it being an 08, I'd take that thing straight to the dealer and have the keypad replaced under warranty. Not being able to shut down the engine is one thing. What happens if you're on the other side of the lake and you can't start it? I actually bought a spare keypad for my 05. It cost me $630. I keep it in a waterproof box with some basic tools and my other spares such as a serpentine belt, impeller, fuses, lights, etc.
