73 Ski Nautique is listing to the right - any suggestions?

    Hello Planet Nautique!
I'm a new user here - hopefully the wealth of knowledge here can help me...

I have a 73 Ski Nautique that seems like it's holding water in the right side, outboard from the stringers. I've pulled out the flooring in the center channel, looked for drain holes/passages and can't find anything to allow water in or out of that space. I had the problem last season, drained the boat 100% dry over the winter, and it was still doing it first time in the water this season. There is no additional equipment in the boat on that side except the fire extinguisher (toolbox is actually on the left side). Is that section of the hull supposed to be sealed? Has anyone else run into this sort of issue on the older Ski Nautiques? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Chris

As a follow on to this... I went out and had another look at the boat, and the swim platform screws that hold the bracket to the transom on the left side are loose - do they go through into that chamber on the hull? I obviously need to fix that before the boat goes back into the water...

Wheres your battery box? I know some of the early 16' CC's put them under the drivers seat, causing the boats to list.

Yes, the holes from the platform are supposed to be sealed, and yes, that would let water into the foam filled compartments under the floor. If the foam is holding water, then your hosed. Nothing you can do to dry it out- only solution is to pull up the floor and remove it. Stringers might be questionable as well.

Your best bet would be to check out CorrectCraftFan.com. Lots of detailed restorations and other useful info there.

OK - thanks for the reply!
The battery is in the center of the boat, in front of the ski pylon. I'd guess that if there is foam under there that it's probably waterlogged. I'll check out the other site - thanks for the suggestion!

turn the lag bolts in your engine cradle to check for stringer rot... if they turn easily, like they are stripped out, then it is most definitely caused from water filled foam....

Thanks for the suggestion Andrew! I'll check that out too... if that's the case, then it would seem there's a lot of work ahead of me...
            Thanks again!
