    Greasing Roller

I have a roller that seems to be stuck/sticking. In my driveway it wouldn't move at all. I put some WD40 on it and after a few hours I could barely get it to move. I was thinking about using some type of grease to actual lube it, but I'm not sure where to grease it. Here's a pic:

Its probably corroded past the point of lubing. West Marine sells them for about 20 bucks You may have to cut the old one off. Then lube the new one with marine grease.

How do you typically get these out? The end cap would not budge with a flat head.

If it is that corroded a hacksaw or cutting wheel may be required You just have to replace the bolt as well.

The bolt might be bent. That puts the roller in a bind, and makes it hard to turn.

I fight the roller when putting the boat on the trailer. The only way to stop that would be to put the truck deeper in the water. I launch at a steep ramp, so my back tires are in the water when I load the boat. With them in the water I still rub on the roller.
