    Engine cutting out.

This weekend when going across rough water the engine would cut out whenever I hit a wave. Cruising in a bay with no wind there was no problem. It wouldn't completely die but loose rpm. I filled it with gas because I wasn't sure of the gas gauge accuracy but no difference. I also noticed a couple of times that the gas gauge would go all the way to zero, almost like I was losing electrical power. I am thinking now it could be the ignition button or something along those lines. It is a 96 super sport with the fuel injected 351. I will also change the fuel filter but I tend to think it is something loose since the problem only occurs when I would hit a wave. Your thoughts are appreciated!
