    Is it a good deal?

i found an 05 210 signature for 30k, it has 1000hrs, and has seen salt water in its life, it is built to handle salt water though. Ever bolt and nut is stainless, it has other random parts stainless, closed cooling, supposedly zinc coated engine mounts, dripless packing gland, and and anodized engine. I plan on taking the boat back to hawaii and where i ride there is not salt water but brackish so it is nice to have the resistence against corrosion. The guy is not very savy about boats and doesnt know who demo-ed it before he got it but i am assuming it was the mission bay aquatic center. I heard they take really good care of the boats but this thing is not a show room shine at all.
there is many vinyl repairs done that were there before he got it and he washed the interior with something that has pretty much ruin all of it. So i know i would be looking at 5k for new interior plus she will need a good tuneup and i would probably go ahead and replace the circulator pump, raw water pump and thermostat just as preventive maintenence.

The guy says since he has bought it the boat has never been in salt water and supposedly he has put most the hours on it ( although he doesnt know how many were on it when he got it). There doesnt seem so be any corrosion in the engine compartment. The shaft had a vibration in it and he said that he hit something and got the prop remachined and it has been like that ever since. who know if the strut or shaft are bent or need an alignment or the prop is just off. The engine runs great though.

As far as the outside goes, she is beautiful
i think i might be able to get him down to 28k

but does this thing just sound like a headache?

This definitely sounds like one of the Aquatic Center boats. When I was shopping for my 210 I went and looked at the 2006 210s they had for sale. This was in Jan/Feb 2007. They are setup as good as can be for salt water and seemed to be well maintained but they are definitely used. All the 210s they had had around 800 hours each on them. They were in the process of detailing them and repairing various things that needed to be repaired, mostly cut vinyl and scratched gelcoat, so I got to see the boats in various stages of repair. The engines and tranny showed some rust, but they scraped it off and repainted them.

I was able to get a great deal on a new 06 210 at M20 so that is the route I went. I did consider their boats but had some concerns about future problems/issues.

Shoot me a PM if you have any questions.

i would just buy a team and make the changes that you want--the reasons you listed in the other thread about want a SE makes no sense to me

it makes perfect sense to me. I dont want an assortment of buttons that have no use. I want to put in my own ballast system with sacs and water puppies and a fourth ballast switch would be easy to match to the existing ones. I guess it is just my taste.
