    Timing on a 351

How do I check/adjust the timing on my PCM 351? It has electronic ignition.

We use a portable stroboscoop timing light. Used on a running engine. Suitable to check all engines, clamp goes on spark cable of cilinder 1.

I have the 351 engine with a Protec ignition. I am familiar with timing am engine with a standard ignition but not one with an electronic ignition.

In general, it is not a function of "electronic" versus points. The procedure is a function of the ECM that controls timing advance. If the ECM controls timing, you usually have to tell the ECM you want it to be in "set timing" mode. Not sure how to do that on Fords.
