I understand that Stargazer works better in drive by wire boats (2006 196 and newer right?). I ask as I am about to pull the trigger on a non DBW boat and wonder if it will be worth upgrading to Stargazer.
I have of 03 196 that I upgraded to stargazer and I just love it. The best thing that I have done. Now I don't have to mess with crew weight or skiers name or wieght, just dial in the speed you want. You can even go into pratice mode and ajust the speed by .1 tenth of a mile for learning a new speed or line length.
\"03\" ski 196 SE (for course use) current boat
\"97\" tige\' 2150 (for wakebording) current boat
\"72\" pontoon ( installing portable course) current boat

My buddy just put stargazer in an older carbie ski nautique, and we are still dialing it in. When its on, it is awsome. But on short set-ups, if it doesn't have time to properly lock in, if it is hot or slow, it will jack the ride to get a perfect time. For example, if you come in two miles slow, you will leave two miles fast, and vice versa, but the times are spot on. We are replacing parts and tinkering, but I think it will be great when we are done with the adjustments.
I'm thinking about upgrading to Stargazer from PP 6.4
I want to forget the magnets and I think SG works with only one magnet at each gate.
Any one of you have the course with only one magnet? How does it work?
Thanks
