After reading previous posts, it seems like most of the solutions for driveway running involve permmanetly cutting into the cooling hoses. And it appears that most people dont like the fake-a-lake... Looking for a solution to just perfrom annual oil change. What would a typical dealer use to warm up the oil and run the boat after the change? Do they just do it cold or is there another temporary means used out there that I just haven't run across? Thanks

I have used a Fake a Lake and currently have the Flush Pro on my boat. Both do the job that you need them to do. The Fake a Lake was always a hassle to me as I had to crawl under the boat to hook it and then unhook it after everything is wet. The Flush Pro is alot less hassle.
I will have a different opinion on draining "cold" oil. If you are draining it out of the bottom of your boat, I prefer cold oil. If you run your boat, some of the oil will not drain out unless you wait several hours. Cold oil has drained all that it is going to. If you are using a pump, then it may be better for the oil to be warm. I have no experience with that. However, I doubt that there is a difference in the amount of oil that you get out.
No matter which system you use, it is NOT advisable to rev your engine while using a water hose system for your cooling.

Just use a 5-gallon bucket, remove the Raw water intake line from the thru hull scoop and stick that end of the hose into the bottom of the bucket. Using your garden hose (and if possbile, just have another hose handy just in case the one hose can keep up with the engine), fill the 5 gal bucket with water, once it gets close to full start the boats engine and let it run until hot - the raw water intake pump will simply pull the agua out of the bucket.

If the hose can keep up just pour more water in that you get from a sink or add the second hose (otherwise just stop the motor and let the hose fill the bucket up again, then repeat).

My choice to to drain the oil both ways. Suck out the hot oil as soon as you can after running the boat, to get any sediment out of the engine before it has a chance to settle, then let the remaining oil drain out for a day or two, to remove as much old oil as is possible.

Here is a very simple solution: 3/4" PVC pipe with male thread adapter plus a 3/4" coupling. then put two female ends on a short length of hose. Disconnect the hose that goes from the filter to the impeller and put the 3/4" coupling into that hose and clamp. Connect the water and you are all set. See pictures cost maybe $3

Made this after a lot of PN research. I don't keep it in permanently but you could. Disconnect hose from strainer to pump, Insert this, held fine by friction no clamps necessary. With the garden hose on and the boat off it pours on the driveway and doesn't force water into the system. Turn the boat on and the water is all sucked into the engine, again without pressure.

I presume the clear hose out the top runs overboard and allows excess water to be diverted?

Yep it goes backward through the strainer and onto the driveway. Clear hose directly to the strainer outlet the gray hose barb connects to the hose leading to your pump.

This is what I’ve built over the years. Pvc sticks out of a water cooler jug. Drill an extra hole in the top of the water jug next to the neck for your fill hose. Pvc to clear Flex hose into the boat with quick connect. Have both 1 inch and 1 1/4 inch hose adapters for going on water strainer inlets or trans cooler inlet depending on what’s more accessible. This system is advantageous because confirms the water impeller is functional and strong. Also you can safely run the boat at high idle for short periods of time or goose it if needed.
