    Leak - Engine Water Intake

On my 99 Sport, after searching for a water leak, I found a small steam coming in through the thru hull engine intake fitting. It is a resessed scoop style thru hull that has two screws on the leading edge. The water stream coming through/around the main pipe, not the smaller screws. I assume I need to remove the fitting, clean off ther surfaces and install using 3M 4200 or similar sealant. Any advice is appreciated. Not sure how hard it is to break the seal/sealant currently holding in the fitting.

I think you ave the right idea. It shouldn't be to hard to break the seal. I like the 4200 or 5200 for this purpose. Make sure the water is coming up through the hull not down from a loose hose clamp.

use 4200 if you want to remove
5200 if you do not want to remove
