    Bent Prop

I have a '01 Ski Nautique with a 4 bladed prop and I believe that I have a slight bend right at the tip of one of the blades. While I was out on the delta over the 4th weekend, I noticed a minor vibration throughout the power curve. It wasn't bad enough to end my weekend, but noticable none-the-less.

My question is two fold. 1. Does anyone know where I can find an inexpensive prop puller? 2. Can a shop fix the problem or do I need to buy a new prop?

Also, does anyone know what the standard make and size prop is for a '01 SN?

    Thanks,

    Greg

    Greg,
You should be able to get the prop reconditioned. You might be able to "rent" a puller from a shop or if it is convenient, tow the boat up to the dealer and let them pull it.
That prop should be an OJ 12.5 X 15.5 RH if I am not mistaken. If I am wrong, someone correct me right away please!

When I damage my prop, I just lightly tap it loose with a dead blow hammer that is rubber coated. Yes almost any prop can be repaiered even if really damaged bad.

I ground 1/2 of a blade off my OJ. Sent it back to johnson and 4 weeks and 80.00 later it was returned repaired and cupped for better performance. Worth every penny.

Thanks to all. I checked the drive shaft last night and it looks perfect. Hopefully, I can just pull the prop and have it reconditioned. skinautique, I think you are right on the prop size. 12.5 x 15.5 is what I had in mind, just wanted to ask the question to make sure I was right.

          Thanks again,

          Greg
