I read all the info on usig the Valvoline VR1 Oil in the Ford 351 and I am convinced - but where do you but it ? Walmart - No - Pep Boys and Autozone have the VR1 50 and 60 and I think the 20-50w. Pepboys would not order it. Seems to still be available, I see it on the WEB. Any suggestions ?

Try to go to auto parts stores that cater to the serious auto enthusiasts crowd, that is racers. Not wanna be racers, with a Honda equipped with a fart cannon muffler.
In the Portland Oregon area, Knechts auto parts has it. I think I have seen it at Baxter auto parts in Portland, but Knechts was lower priced. You might have better luck with a store that is not part of a national chain.
By the way, i have found the best price on Sta-bil fuel stabilizer in the garden center of a "one stop shopping" center store.

The other way to do it is to look in your "yellow pages" (man, how dated!) and find the wholesale oil distributers in your area. They are the guys that deliver oil to industrial customers and some auto parts stores. Most will sell retail also. Some may make you beg or make you pretend to be a garage.
I buy delvac 1300 in the quarts from an oil jobber. No stores have it in quarts.

I buy mine from here but locally: http://carquest.know-where.com/carquest/
Good stores. I call ahead to a store and see if they have it in stock, if not, they'll usually look in the computer and see which stores have it. They'll even have it on sale sometimes too.

I assume you were looking for straight 40w? Ive been running the 20w50 with great results, FYI. Most places that stock it should be able to order it for you- keep asking around. Ive found that Advance has the best price on VR1, but NAPA always has it in stock as well.1990 Ski Nautique
