These 2 parts are just a couple bucks you can buy one at a time from Ace Hardware.
The 1x tee was just an example. I don't know what size he wants or needs.

Here is a link to the insert fittings and all catalogs. They have a 1x1/2" insert tee or he can use a combination tee and combination elbow like you did.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: DIY shower question

I am going to remove the shower from my boat in the spring. If anyone is interested I was thinking like $50 plus shipping. I had meant to do it prior to winterizing but neglected to buy the plus for the block. Let me know.

That can't be a factory installed shower of a Nautique can it Quinner????? Our Nautique dealer said that Nautique never have offered a factory shower unit, and it is against CC terms to all dealers for them to be involved in any way promoting or fitting aftermarket shower units to Nautiques. It has to do with Nautiques hard line stance of carbon monoxide poisoning, as you need to have your engine running to operate them, and most use them on the boarding platform to use them.

Correct Craft did install showers in boats prior to 2003. About 2003 they decided not to make then available. On boats with the 6 liter engine you could not put a shower on, because of the closed cooling system.

                  Hamish,

CC offered showers until 05', ordered showers on a 99' and an 05'. They sure appear to be factory installed, otherwise the dealer installed them, all I know is when I picked up the boats the showers were there as I had ordered them.

                  Daniel,

Check out the 05' brochure on CCFan, showers are listed as an option, pretty sure that was the last year. I have read you can rig a shower in a closed cooling engine although I have never seen one done.

I worked in a Nautique dealership until sometime in the Spring of 2003, and I knew that there were factory showers installed in the boats, and I also installed showers in boats that did not have them from the factory. I did not really pay attention to exactly when they were not installed anymore by the factory. I also think that if you went into a Nautique dealer, and wanted to buy a 2009 Nautique with an Excalibur 343 engine and wanted a shower, and the shower was wanted to close the sale, you could probably could get a 2009 Nautique with a shower. I have seen a Sport Nautique with a trolling motor bracket mounted on the swim platform.
With the closed cooling system on ZR-6 motors, there is not really a supply of hot water for a shower. The warm raw water out from the heat exchanger is not really hot enough to be used for a shower.
In 2003 there was already talk of discontinuing showers in all the boats, because of the CO problem.
I believe there is factory wiring installed in all the 2003 boats that used the touchpad control system. (Team, and Limited boats) It is less expensive to mass produce the electrical system, and controls the same, and install it all the same, than it is to make different variations for each boat and model. That is why if you have a 2000 or so Ski, or Sport Nautique, it also has touch pad switches for raising the electric hatch the was only on one model of Nautique in 2000, the "Real or Classic" Super Air.

I have a 05 196 and from what my dealer told me I had the last factory installed shower from CC. They stopped it because of a lawsuit in California, some one sued CC for smelling exhaust when using the shower. They did not win because of all the warning labels, but it did cause CC to stop factory installing them in 05.
