    Bent the drive shaft

Hi all, I'm new to the place and very glad to have found it. I've got a '95 sport that I've owned since '02. It's been flawless and still is other than the fact that I hit something (a stump) yesterday and bent the drive shaft. The motor seems fine, rudder is fine, prop has two tiny little dings. Anyway, I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out how the stump managed to miss everything under the boat except the drive shaft. No hull damage that I could see. Sorry for the long post, but I was wondering if anybody has had to replace their drive shaft and approximately how much it's going to cost. Thanks for all of your help.

    RE: Bent the drive shaft

I have a long time ago. I hit a rock and took out the
prop, skeg, drive shaft and coupler. It was a hard hit
but didn't touch the rudder or hull. I cant say what it
would cost today it was 1200.00 18 years ago.
Make sure you check all components and alignment.
