    I don't feel the serviceability is as much the engine manufacturers fault as it is the boat OEM. They are the ones jamming the engines/transmissions in aft hatches that you can't get into!! The PWC's have gotten better but the early ones sure are a PITA. Try standing on your head with your hands in a dark hole changing a starter by feel!!

      barbed fittings

      If already stated above, I apologize, but isn't there a tool for removing hoses off barbed fittings? It looks like a screw driver with a 90 degree bend and a pick type end. I'll try to find a picture. i know I've seen one.

        I've heard others on here talk about the hose removal tool. With a boat that is 5 years old I imagine I will need to start replacing some of the engine hoses, so I may as well pick one of them up. Hopefully it will help with the ballast hoses too.
