Recently I ran into some transmission trouble on my 88 SN 2001. It felt like the prop was cavitating randomly, as the situation got worse I realized it was the transmission that was slipping. A local mechanic realized that there was some water in my tray fluid, so he sucked it out and replaced it. Now the boat runs great but it seams to hit a little harder going into reverse. Has anyone had this happen to them before? I ran on it two days before I replaced the fluid. How much permanent damage could I have done?
Any suggestions or advice would be great.
