I was thinking of adding closed cooling on my Excalibur if it's possible. I like the idea of not having to worry about an impellar breaking. Does anyone know if it can be done? and if so how much would it cost?

You'll still have an impeller to check. Raw water cools the heat exchanger for the closed cooling as well as the exhaust system.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. Whoever told you about the closed cooling system not having a RWP and having to deal with impeller maintenence should be informed. I'd hate to have them run into a problem!! If they do have a newer boat with the closed cooling, at least it should go into "limp" mode if over heated.
