    Flame Arrestor hose not connected

Got my 210 back from the dealer after the first 20 hr service was done last week. Took her out this sat for 3 hours of riding. Boat performed & sounded normal. Yesterday I lifted the engine compartment to clean the sides of the vinyl and noticed a hose sticking out right under the red engine cover (right under the sign that says PCM 330) - right in the middle. I took off the red PCM Plastic engine cover and noticed the hose was the one connected to the flame arrestor that is supposed to be connected to the valve cover on the right.

So i guess the mechanic who serviced my boat forgot to connect that hose back. :???:

My question is - could this have caused any damage of any sort to my engine. Or do I just connect it back (which of course I already did) and be on my way? Or do I bring her back into the dealer to run some checks???

Ill be calling the service manager in about an hour to let him know -but wanted to get your guys' input. Thanks again.

RE: Flame Arrestor hose not connected

Dont worry about it, no damage would have occurred. The only thing that could have possibly happened is a bit of oil residue made its way into the engine compartment- though I bet the amount would have been minimal to non-existant on an engine that new. The hose to the arrestor just puts a small amount of vaccuum to the breather hose and gives it somewhere to go (back into the engine). Just reconnect it and go skiing.

You will be fine. TRBenj said it right. This hose is supposed to terminate close to the arrester. The bracket it connects to only holds the open end near the air intake to the engine. Many times this will move off the bracket and you will never notice it. Any fumes that come out of the end of the hose are suppesed to get pulled back into the intake and out the exhaust.
