2006 AIR NAUTIQUE 210 STUFFING BOX

Water laeking in from the prop shaft seal / stuffing box. What is the best way to access the prop shaft seal to replace packing? Regards, Greg

I am shocked that an 06 does not have a dripless packing system. Are you sure the water is coming from there and not the rudder?

Definately coming in through the propshaft stuffing box I can just manage to see the fittings, old style, not dripless packing system. Any idea which is the best way to reach it. I am thinking to remove the complete rear seat assembly or remove a ballast tank, either way access is limited.

I have no idea what a 06 rear compartment looks like. Maybe someone will chime in that has one sorry.

I just did my 2003 226, its a bitch. I removed the false floor over the starboard ballast tank and the panels separating the storage compartment form the engine and crawled into the rear storage area. The ballast tank is tapered toward the engine to allow better access. I did most by feel but did manage a view when absolutely necessary. I’m 5'-8" 155 lbs. Anyone 200 lbs I don’t know if it could be done unless you remove the ballast tank completely. It’s no easy task in a V-drive. Good Luck

                dwsa,

Left hand????? My 2003 has a RH rotation but you have the LH rotation thus I guess they changed the packing gland thread. Sorry I had no idea it had changed or I would have alerted you. Mine is right hand thread.
