When the impeller breaks down where do all the blades go? I found a few clogging the line on the inlet side of the pump, but will they make it through the engine and water pump? :?:

In an attempt to minimize this type of problem I sugguest you spend the $20 and 20 minutes each spring and replace the impellor. I do this as part of my spring readiness procedures and hit the water without worries. :cheers:88 Barefoot Nautique

I had just replaced the impeller as I do every year, and keep 2 spares in the boat, but the poor little jabsco pump after 30 years of faithful operation just decided to shut down on me. I have ordered a new sherwood pump from skidim (since they don't make the jabsco) and a new raw water pump also. I have never had any trouble till now. You can't prevent every breakdown. But for a 30 year old boat it sure runs good!
