I don't know about you guys, but I always put oil filters on my boat. Especially after I change the oil. It's supposed to work really well that way because it helps get the particulates out of the oil. That's my favorite part about my oil filter, but since I change them so often I don't get the high performance ones. Kind of like a toothbrush.

As far as air filters and flame arrestors, I wonder if the boat sounds "meaner" and that makes it feel faster? Or maybe it is faster, too... I think at the end of the day it's really about personal preference, since there's no award or million dollar prize. It's just how much YOU enjoy YOUR boat. In that regard, my boat is the baddest boat on the planet, because I love it... Just food for thought.

TRBenj, you're right about a lot of BS floating around the internet, and I am the first one to admit that I don't believe everything i hear. I can tell you're very biased and probably very old too, but if you want some proof, go out and buy a 9" or even an 11" xtreme top and hook it up to your 78' Ski Tique. Now I know its a little too much bling for that boat, and you might want to call your insurance agent before you do, but your 450 Holley will cry mercy when you start shoving 700 cfm down her throat.

You must be new around here. You should search a few threads on TRBenj before you start throwing mud. He has one of the hottest early 90's skis on the forum. This is going to be interesting.

yea but it needs some better lungs on the top end but then he really doesn't use his boat that way either then to crack on the project boat which I don't believe has a 450 on to start with, aaahhh yes a stock one does but who said it was all stock. Should I hammer them for you Tim LOL they have no clue, they would just rather pay someone then do it themselves because they don't know how.

                SS,
I certainly wouldn't call Mr. Tim Benjaman "old" however, it sure sounds like he is your elder. He's also old enough to know the dangers of putting a non USCG flame arrestor on his boat.

This site unlike CCfan doesn't have the option of putting down birth dates in profiles. I'd say 60% of the registered users do on CCfan. It does provide insite at times understanding who you're talking to. I was born in 52!
