    GT 40 acceleration problems

    Traded in my 93 snob for a 97 Ski. Up until today, the GT 40 has been perfect! Today, after a few sessions of boarding, the GT 40 had trouble getting the boat up to speed. It still ideled fine, but was slow getting to speed, and didn't quite reach full performance. After shutting it off for a few seconds, it took off a lot better, but still not quite the same POWER it should have. Any advise. I am going to call the dealer in the moring. I am sure they will be able to help.

    Change the fuel control cell filter, check the fuel intake line inside the tank if the filter doesnt fix it. That would be my first things to check. How many hours on the boat?

        Well, I have changed the FCC filter, changed the High Pressure fuel pump, and checked the intake line in the tank. It did have some crap in it, but it didn't help. NOW WHERE?????

          I would have thought that would have taken care of it. Call ski-dim and let them know what symptons are and you have changed and see what they suggest.

          Have you added anything accesory wise or changed anything besides the fuel filter\pump before it started running poorly?

            No, I haven't changed anything at all. Do you know if there is any screen or filter before the low pressure pump? Besides the screen in the pick up tube in the tank?

              Well there was a screen in the low pressure pump. It was all dirty, so I thought forsure that would fix the problem. NOPE!!!!
              I am now thinking it may be electrical. Throttle Position sensor??? The boat can only get to 4200 rpm. It is here wfo or 3/4.

                OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finally figured out the PROBLEM!!! CRAZY!!!! You may not believe me, but it is true. I had a hole in my muffler, which was shooting so much steam and water into the engine compartment, that when it went into the EFI, it basically was killing the engine. Runs like a NAUTIQUE should now. At least I have a clean fuel system out of all this!!!!

                  Wow, I never would have thought of that. Glad its fixed, sorry if I ran you on a wild goose chase, but as you said you have your fuel system maintenance done for another 600 or so hours.
