exactly. we use a 04 F150 fx4 to tow my 210 and there's no way I'd use a smaller truck.

I had a chevy silverado 1500 with the 5.3 z71 4x4 and it did great. Even towed down to Cumberland a few times, which is much hillier than it is here, but I just traded that for a Tundra double cab with the 5.7 litre 4x4 trd and it's a beast. I don't know wether it will stop better, but it gets better mileage and makes MUCH more power. I've heard it's a dream to tow with, so we'll see.

My Denali wasn't enough for me. It towed fine, but at hwy speeds I was getting 7mpg......that's why I went to over kill. Just got an 05 GMC Duramax Crew Cab 4X4. I will now have to make sure I remember the boat is still back there!

I agree. I wouldn't go smaller, but I would like something bigger for towing with comfort. It'll be hard for my next one to not be diesel.

7mpg, really? That is really hard to believe unless your truck was lifted, bigger tires and not regeared.
