Loud gearbox noise when in neutral (and cold) 211 team 08

This past weekend, cold start up, maybe water 64, air temp 55, when i put my 2008 211 team out of gear, i noticed loud to very load gear related noise from engine compartment. back in forward or reverse and super quiet. I've owned a few nautiques and have never heard that before. the engine might have 100 ours on it, and i have not done a v-drive oil change, and if i recall correctly, they do not call for an oil change in the v-drive any more, or at least during the break in .

i think the sound didn't reoccur after it was warm.

    any thoughts... thanks

    rick,

Just to confirm, your hearing the noise while its in neutral? Many folks with vdrives have heard this as one comes out of neutral very slowly - if you search on gear noise you should find them. On a side note, remember there is the vdrive oil and the transmission oil, the trans oil should be changed every 100 hours.
